Amazon Expert | Amazon Prep and Ship Company | Brown Box Ninja

Founded in the garage of my home in 2016, I, Amanda Sheppard started Brown Box Ninja as a hobby to keep me busy since the selling of my own E-Commerce business. I started my E-Commerce career in 2013 with my husband selling on Amazon and eBay. He did the hard stuff- sourcing product, pictures and listings. I did the easy stuff-customer service, billing, and all the warehousing (picking, prepping, labeling, and shipping). We sold our online business in 2016 and about 2 months later I was itching for something new. I really enjoyed our E-Commerce business, the warehousing side, and after discussing with my husband I decided to offer my knowledge and skill set to the world, and Brown Box Ninja was born.

Before starting my E-Commerce business, my background was in customer service, management, and nursing. I knew there were online sellers out there did not like poly bagging, bubble wrapping, and lifting heavy boxes. Well I did, and I wanted to use my Amazon Expert knowledge and experiences to help other sellers grow.

Shortly after opening Brown Box Ninja, I moved out of my garage and into a 3,000 sqft warehouse in Hutto, TX. That didn’t last long, in 2017 we moved to Hubbard, TX into a 12,000 sqft warehouse. In 2019 we were operating out of 2 locations, 1 in Hubbard and 1 in Temple, TX. In 2020 we consolidated both locations and moved into a 27,000 sqft warehouse where we resided for 2 years. In November of 2022 we moved into our current home of 55,000 sqft.

It has been quite the journey. I have met some awesome customers and employees along the way. We have a few customers that have been with us since our doors opened and has experienced and supported our journey thus far. We might have changed buildings a few times, but one thing that has never changed is my dedication to being the #1 prep and ship fulfillment center that keeps the sellers at the top of our priority list. Our customer service is out of this world and what originally was “my” goal is now instilled with employees that share the same vision and mission as I do and have also become Amazon Experts.

I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.” -Robert Frost

Temple-based Brown Box Ninja provides services for online merchants

By DAVID STONE, Our Town Temple

Lately, Amanda Sheppard and her spirited social media rants about the ongoing Frito shortage have been all over the news — her quest to find the missing Frito-pie ingredient has been featured on local television and here in Our Town Temple.

Amanda, however, is much more than a corn-chip craving chili lover. She’s also a highly successful business woman who operates a warehouse and order-fulfillment service for online merchants.

Brown Box Ninja, located in a 19,000-square-foot warehouse off I-35 in the heart of Temple, is an order fulfillment center that ships items all over the world. Her customers are online businesses that sell just about everything.

“A lot of online businesses don’t have their own warehouses, so they use us,” Amanda said. “They ship their products to Temple and we store them in our warehouse. When a product is sold from their website — or through online retailers such as Amazon, eBay or walmart.com — we ship it out. Sometimes we ship directly to the buyer, sometimes to the retail giants.”

“The customer can focus on building their business and their online store while we handle warehousing, packaging and shipping,” she said. “We handle the tape, boxes, bubble wrap, bags and pallets.”

So what does Brown Box Ninja ship?

“Just about everything,” the personable Amanda said with a laugh. “You name it — food, hats, toys, clothing, auto parts. Pretty much everything from A to Z.”

Brown Box Ninja ships via UPS and USPS, and it hires freight companies for big loads.

“We use DHL for international shipments,” she said. “But we use all of the major shipping companies. Temple is a great headquarters because of its location. It’s an easy ride to the Amazon distribution centers in Texas.”

Amanda said she developed an interest in product fulfillment after she and her husband, Aaron, launched an e-commerce business in 2013.
